A Soccer Team and an Investment Portfolio

Right now, the Qatar 2022 World Cup is undoubtedly taking much of the attention of citizens globally. The biggest and most popular sporting event par excellence worldwide for a month eliminates political, geographic, social and economic barriers between all and under the same passion creates scenarios that probably in other contexts it is hard to imagine...

For soccer fans, this sporting event is the most anticipated every four years and is an opportunity to give free rein to this passion.

As in many other things, investments can be related to different events and in this case, considering that the two passions of the author come together, we are going to make an analogy of how to create an adequate investment portfolio, similar to building a good soccer team.

For soccer lovers or those of us who have played the sport at a relatively more serious level there is an old adage that goes:

"Young players can win you a game...but a good team can win you a championship."

In a simple way, I am going to write an account of how these two structures (an investment portfolio and a soccer team) can have so many similarities.

When you have a soccer team in mind, you know that in order to be competitive and obtain good results on a regular basis, you need a good backbone (goalkeeper, central defenders, midfielders and strikers) with certain fundamental aspects to be competitive.
