Airbnb: A five-star debut

Within this market, one of the leading companies in recent years has been Airbnb. The company that allows users to rent their apartments or houses for short or long stays in all parts of the world.

In the first nine months of the year, Airbnb presented revenues of $2.5 billion, a figure well below the $3.7 billion it posted in the same period of 2019. However, in the last quarter, the company has begun to show signs of a significant recovery. Presenting the best quarter in its history in terms of profitability if we base it on earnings before interest and taxes.

Revenues fell by 18% in the fourth quarter. This is an encouraging figure considering that its main competitors reported declines of approximately 60%.

Many analysts have highlighted the adaptability of Airbnb's business model to adapt to the changes presented by the pandemic and to be able to provide users with what they are currently looking for.
