The highest unemployment rate was the State of Columbia (4.7%), followed by Illinois (4.5%). Overall, 8 states had unemployment rates higher than the U.S. average while 17 states had lower rates and 25 states had rates that barely differed from the national average.
The average unemployment rate in the U.S. is 3.5%, while this value falls in what would be considered full employment, something that many would accept as a positive data, it may in turn be an excuse for the FED to defend the continuation of rate hikes.
On the other side of the globe, Giorgia Meloni was named Italy's first female prime minister on Friday and has already chosen her cabinet team, putting her stamp on the government as possibly the country's most conservative since World War II.
Currently in Italy, this metric sits at 8.1%, trending downward, and many are hoping that a new face at the helm can use the time to promote economic activity.
