In Europe, the main financial markets closed the week on a positive note. Europe's stock markets had a great week and accumulated an increase of 5% over last Friday.
The US equity market closed the week in positive territory. The main US stock market indexes closed the week with gains for five consecutive days.

58% of the companies that make up the S&P 500 index have already reported results for the fourth quarter of 2020. About 82% of companies have managed to beat analysts' estimates this quarter, compared to the historical average of 65%.
The Chinese New Year is approaching and will be celebrated next Friday, February 12. Investors will be watching for news about new measures that the People's Bank of China may take regarding new monetary policies for this new year.
After the U.S. Senate passed a budget plan last Friday that allows Democrats to pass legislation in Congress in the coming weeks with or without Republican support, the new COVID-19 aid package is closer to passage.
